The famed and legendary ‘Precious Wentletrap’ from Western Pacific deep waters.
Ever popular due to it’s wonderful shape and structure, this shell was at one time a great rarity – so much so that it is said that enterprising Oriental craftsmen supposedly made rice-flour paste countefeits. The fraud was only detected when the shell was washed and fell apart !
It is doubtful that any of these so called fakes have ever been discovered or appeared in any collection – to date !
Approx sizes from 4 cm to 5cm. Please be aware that there will be occasional small chips on the vertical ribs, but they don’t detract in anyway from an otherwise fabulous shell.
